Product Description

The SPC 660 – 2000 RB chuck-type pipe cutting line combines the roller bed principle for an uninterrupted material flow, while controlling the rotation of the material with a floating chuck registering linear displacement. Pipes up to 2035 mm (80 “) in diameter can be processed with a wide range of part lengths and profiling shapes. With its adjustable characteristics, the SPC 660 – 2000 RB is fully customized to fit your requirements.

Independent bogies for bow-shaped pipe compensation

The bogies in the roller bed for pipe support can move up and down independently, allowing for immediate part outfeed after cutting. Lowering several sets of roller wheels also compensates for bow-shaped pipes. These adjustments combine the rotational accuracy of the chuck with the efficient material flow of roller beds.

Smart creep compensation to maximize cutting accuracy

The pipe is supported on the roller bed by multiple wheel sets. Any distortion in the pipe will cause the pipe to creep (move longitudinally) along the roller bed. The longer the pipe, the greater the chance of creep.

The base plate of the main drive is mounted on linear rails, allowing the main drive unit to move longitudinally. This longitudinal movement is registered by an encoder and compensated by the cutting trolley, which uses this input to offset the cutting path for accuracy. Another benefit of this system is that it avoids any tension between the roller bed and the main drive, preventing damage to the machine.

Configurable with a sliding chuck for efficient material handling

The SPC 660 – 2000 RB is designed to be highly configurable to match your workshop’s material flow. One of the options option is to equip the machine with a sliding chuck, enabling material infeed from both the front and rear of the chuck. This setup simplifies material logistics and eliminates the need for an overhead crane.
